About the Founder

You are seen and you are loved…

Hello, my name is Crystal Crowe. I welcome you to this space, although I am deeply sorry you had to find it.

The Birdie Foundation was born from the shattering in losing my husband to suicide. One moment we were a family navigating life’s challenges, and the next, I was a solo mother overwhelmed with grief and confusion.

In my search for understanding, I returned to school, earning a Master’s in Psychology and becoming a Certified Grief Educator. It was during that journey, that The Birdie Foundation was shaped.

While nothing can truly answer that harrowing question of why, I have a strong conviction that the Lord has directed my steps to this work for this season of my life. Rebuilding our life is still a huge part of that as we have had to re-create stability at home.

Whether or not you share my faith, I do understand the depths of pain, confusion, and sorrow that come with the loss of a spouse. I know what it feels like to hold your grieving children while navigating your own grief, and the need to provide them with answers as well.

If you are navigating a loss or grieving, I invite you to explore the resources I have collected here and those I am actively working on.

If you love someone who has found themselves navigating life after loss, I encourage you to first show up – sit with them in their sorrow – and then actively find small and intentional ways to support them where they are at.

Thank you for being here, and thank you for showing up for your loved ones.
